Q. Is there a way to split a region into multiple pieces in GarageBand for iPad?

A. Yes, first Tap the region to select it. Then Tap the region again and when the popUp bubble appears Tap "Split." Drag the Split Marker horizontally to select the point at which you'd like the spilt to occur, and drag it down to perform the split.

You can make multiple splits by moving the marker left and right to new positions. When you're finished, Tap anywhere outside the region to remove the Split Marker.
